Social Mixer with Russian Friends at Happy Hour

Вечер Встреч и Общения с Русскоязычными Друзьями

  March 26,  2010,  Friday,  7:30 p.m. - midnight

"Bistango" Restaurant - Bar & Patio,  Irvine  (see website

19100 Von Karman Ave., Irvine, CA 92612  (see directions below)

This gathering gives an opportunity for Russian-speaking people
to meet and socialize in an informal setting in the bar and in the outdoor patio
of a classy restaurant "Bistango" in Irvine, with live music and dance floor.

It will be now happening regularly on the last Friday of each month.

We gather at 7:30 p.m. in the bar for drinks, appetizers, socializing and dancing.

From 9 p.m., everybody is invited to the patio for singing Russian songs,
starting with a semi-professional mini-concert of popular hits,
then singing along, with the accompaniment on guitar and keyboard.
Please bring printed verses of your favorite songs (a few copies).
[ Gas heaters are available for a cold night. Also, bring your jackets. ]

Each evening in October, there will be happy-hour specials for $5
for martinis and small plates of appetizers (Tapas menu)
served in the bar and in the patio from 5 p.m. through 9 p.m.

On Friday nights, the Nick Pepper Trio (keyboards, guitar, drums, vocals)
plays a mix of classic rock-n-roll and blues in the bar from 7:30 p.m. through midnight.

Also, you may come earlier and have a dinner in the dining room of the restaurant,
featuring an artful New American cuisine (see menu).

No reservation is needed - just come and bring your friends.

The previous such mixers at Bistango were attended by 20 to 30 people each
(see photos below).

For directions to the restaurant - see Map
In addition, the drive way off Von Karman Ave. (not shown on the map)
is a continuation of Martin Street to the right (if coming from Campus Drive).

The restaurant offers convenient valet parking.
Also, free parking is available in the structure past the valet parking lot.
