This
gathering gives an opportunity for Russian-speaking people to meet and socialize in an informal setting in the bar and in the outdoor patio of a classy restaurant "Bistango" in
Irvine, with live music and dance floor.
It
is usually happening on 2nd Friday of each month.
We gather at 7:30 p.m.
around the bar for drinks, appetizers, socializing and dancing.
Just walk around and try to hear people speaking Russian.
Usually, somebody comes with a guitar or a keyboard,
and we go to the patio to sing Russian songs after 9 p.m.
Everybody is welcome to bring their instruments and play.
[ Gas heaters are available for a cold night. Also, bring your
jackets. ]
Each
evening, there will be happy-hour specials for $6
for martinis and appetizers (Tapas menu - see)
served in the bar and in the patio from 5 p.m. through 10 p.m.,
as well as small plates menu below $15 per substantial dish - see
.
On Friday nights, the Nick Pepper Trio (keyboards, guitar,
drums, vocals)
plays a mix of classic rock-n-roll and blues in the bar from 7:30 p.m. through
midnight.
Also, you
may come earlier and have a dinner in the dining room of the restaurant,
featuring
an artful New American cuisine (see menu).
No
reservation is needed - just come and bring your friends.
The
previous such mixers at Bistango were attended by 20 to 30 people each
(see photos below).
